The theme for this year is ‘Digital Workplace Transformation for Africa’s Energy Future – Issues, Prospects & Solutions’.

The summit will this year start with a Masters Class with the aim of targeting stakeholders, oil and gas companies and individuals to strategically address Human Resource Analytics for Oil & Gas Talent Management. This session will also explore innovative talent leadership to catalyze Africa’s competitiveness in a global industry.

Other sessions of the Summit include Talent Leadership Summit, Digital Talent Solutions Arena which will provide participants and sponsors an opportunity to exhibit digital technology solutions which drives oil and gas people and performance excellence, Africa Oil & Gas Human Capital Report will be targeted to provide actionable insights for policy and strategic workforce planning by energy companies focused on Africa (first of its kind in Africa energy industry) and Africa Oil Industry Awards for Innovation & Change Leadership, the first of its kind to be featured in this years’ summit.

According to Emielu, organizer of the Summit the critical need for the AOGS2017 is that “as oil prices remain low for longer, people and processes are key for survival. People who can unravel the emerging complexities and ambiguities; resilient and focused people who can chalk up innovative responses and implement same successfully.” AOGS is the platform to put people and performance excellence center stage in Africa’s oil and gas discourse, he added.

Using the hashtag #AOGS2017, Penplusbytes under its www.reportingoilandgas.org project will provide comprehensive coverage using social media platforms and other digital tools. The Executive Director of Penplusbytes, Kwami Ahiabenu II reiterated Penplusbytes’ commitment to ensuring effective governance of the natural resources within the sub region using technology. “We are poised to deliver a comprehensive coverage of the summit activities in real time.
