The entire programme Is divided into three stages: core
The Core stage: At this stage of the programme participants study and rigorously examine two mandatory modules aimed at giving solid foundation in the field of Oil and Gas studies. These modules include:
Module 1:
THE ANATOMY OF PETROLEUM BUSINESS This core module will provide a comprehensive general knowledge of the Oil and Gas industry covering the following units:

ESSENTIAL LEADERSHIP SKILLS FOR OIL & GAS PROFESSIONALS
The leadership skills needed to thrive in the Oil and Gas Industry will be the main focus of this core module. Through case studies, group discussions and experience sharing, participants will be exposed to contemporary leadership skills. The following units will be covered thoroughly.

The Elective Stage
1. PETROLEUM PROJECT MANAGEMENT
The Petroleum Project Management elective of the Certificate in Oil and Gas Management and Administration programme covers the principles and application of project management to the oil and gas business. The content will cover steps in the development of a petroleum project including screening and feasibility studies, environmental studies risk analysis and management, project definition, resource scheduling, cost estimating, project controls etc.
2. PETROLEUM HR MANAGEMENT
The Course is designed to introduce participants to the current trends in HR practices in the Oil and Gas industry including policies and procedures, organizational design, recruitment, manpower planning and development.
3. PETROLEUM MARKETING
The course will look at the development of the free market oil; current international market structure, regional markets; retail marketing of petroleum products; structure of the margins realized along the distribution value chain; transitions in the marketing of transportation of fuels.
4. PETROLEUM FINANCE & ACCOUNTING
The aim of this course is to enhance participants’ understanding of current international best practices in finance and accounting with the oil and gas industry, this is achieved through an examination of accounting standards, policies and practices in the oil and gas industry.
5. PETROLEUM OPERATION & SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT
This course aims to provide thorough grounding in modern logistics operations and management in the oil and gas industry. Participants will look at the different modes of transportation in the oil and gas industry, what goes into transport selection and distribution management and purchasing policies and strategies including contract negotiations.
6. PETROLEUM LAW & CONTRACT MANAGEMENT
This course aims to take a cursory look at key legal issues in the oil and gas industry including transnational and international oil and gas law; oil and gas contracts and agreements law; business and corporate law.
