The Deputy Executive Secretary of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), Madam Afia Akoto has issued a public apology to the Chief Executive Officer of the Chamber of Bulk Oil Distributors, Mr. Senyo Hosi.

The unreserved apology addressed to lawyers for Mr. Hosi, is in connection with accusations of bribery Madam Akoto published on her Facebook page which has since become the subject of an GH¢8 million lawsuit filed by Hosi against the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong who is said to have originally made the accusation. His company, Ken City Media Limited is also a respondent along with Afia Akoto.

“I write to sincerely and unreservedly retract wholly my comments about your client which led to my being made 3rd defendant in the above-mentioned defamation suit.

“I admit that even though I did not originate the allegations of wrongdoing, I did reecho them on my facebook wall on the 29th of June 2017 without first verifying what I now accept to be rather unfortunate claims without basis.

“I regret the comments, apologize unreservedly, and undertake never to repeat them.

“I am truly sorry for the damage caused to your client.”

The apology, part of terms of settlement signed by Afia Akoto, consequently expunges her name from the suit as a defendant.
