Africa must be clear about its own sphere of Influence in the global Oil and Gas space – Alero Onodose

  • Alero Onodose has called on Africa to strive for excellence in its quest for strategic imperatives for Africa Oil & Gas in a Lower-for-Longer Price Scenario. She said this at the opening of the 3rd  Africa Oil and Gas Talent summit held in Accra.

    Discussing the use of technology in the oil and gas space, Chief Executive  Officers took a turn at the Summit’s CEO roundtable discussions. Felix Amieyeofori, Chairman of the advisory committee of the Summit urged participants in Africa to adapt global oil technologies as a teaser to develop on their capacities.

    According to CEOs, despite things have eased since January 2016, crude oil price has stabilized at a much lower level than expected, resulting in a move to settle for a lower-forever price scenario.

    They further urged for the leveraging on human capital to develop a digital workplace in Africa. According to them the existence and trends in the industry as a result of digital transformation is a call for real thinking and innovations.

    The General Manager, Human Resources, Seplat Petroleum Development Company Plc, Alero Ondose says there is a need for Africa to embed the right governance structure for business in Africa. She further advised business to support technology for growth and development.

    The opening of the Africa Oil and Gas Talent was held in Accra. Day one of the summit was attended by Stakeholders, Chief Executive Officers, Experts and Students in the industry.

    Africa Oil & Gas Talent Summit is an annual event that launched in 2015, that fills a very important gap in Africa’s oil industry’s ecosystem. As oil prices remain low for longer, people and processes are key for survival.
