  • Three former ministers whose homes were raided by some personnel of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ghana Police Service while today meet the CID to assist in the ongoing probing of alleged financial malfeasance involving the Ameri power contract.

The ministers; former Power minister Kwabena Donkor, former deputy Power Minister John Jinapor and the former deputy Attorney General Dominic Ayine say they will honour the invitation despite objections from parliament.

The homes of the former Mahama appointees were raided in search of documents on the controversial power deal.

The 300MW emergency power contract was secured in 2015 by the John Mahama administration to fix severe power challenges at the time after it received Parliamentary approval.

The Speaker of Parliament, Mike Oquaye, on Friday July 28 2017 gave an assurance that he would invite the appropriate security officials to discuss matters relating to the dawn raids of the former appointees, who are also MPs.

The Speaker’s assurance comes at the back of an appeal by Alhaji Muntaka Mubarak, Chief Whip of the Minority, calling on him to restrain the security personnel from raids of homes of some MPs on the Minority Side, suspected to be linked to the alleged malfeasance in the AMERI power deal.
