Citi Business Festival: Oil and Gas experts to meet at GhIPCON 2018

  • The next outdoor event on the Citi Business Festival, the Ghana International Petroleum Conference (GhIPCON) will come off this morning at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel Accra.

    The conference will assembly experts and stakeholders in the petroleum downstream sector to discuss challenges and bring out solutions for the industry.

    The topics to be discussed include; “Realising the vision of a Petroleum Hub”, “Finding the optimal balance between foreign direct investments and local participation in the Petroleum Hub”, and “To refine or not to refine? The case for West Africa”.

    The rest are “Funding the vision of a Petroleum Hub”, “Harmonising West African Standards” and “Achieving public safety at petroleum facilities”.

    The panelists to discuss these topics are experts drawn from a wide cross section of industry and will interrogate and shed light on market and policy shifts required to realize government’s vision of turning Ghana into a Petroleum Hub for West Africa.

    This year’s conference will have representatives from government, importers, distributors, traders, oil marketing companies, storage operators, ministries and agencies, refineries, petroleum support companies and investors.

    Training Programmes

    Sales Revolution

    Like previous editions, this year’s Citi Business Festival will feature training programmes.

    The first of the kind is the Sales Revolution which will start from the 14th to 15th June.

    The event will be held at the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel at 8:00am each day.

    The facilitators include Maxwell Dodd who will be speaking on topics like  “Beating the Competition: Achieving Sales Success”, as well as the “The Salesman’s Survival Kit”.

    Mawuli Ocloo will speak on “Growing Your Business with Sales Prospecting System: Tips, Techniques and Tools to succeed” as well as “accelerating Your Sales Revenue Growth: The four Keys to success”.

    Management Boot Camp

    The Management Boot Camp, which is part of the month-long Citi Business Festival, is scheduled for 24th to 30thJune at the International Student Guest Center (ISGC), Abokobi.

    The Boot Camp is an executive week long advanced management training programme, designed for Senior Management in various industries, including the private and public sector workers.

    The programme is aimed at exploring opportunities of latest academic thinking and practical insights by renowned facilitators.

    Topics that will be taught include, “Leadership Essentials”, “Managing People—It’s Harder than you think” Leap Frogging the Competition”, “Creating a Leadership Brand”, “Getting the Best out of your staff” as well as “Who Moved my Cheese”.

    The facilitators include: Capt. Budu Koomson, Beryl Hammond Appiah, Maxwell Dodd, Prof. Robert Ebo Hinson, Kofi Bentsil and Martyn Mensah.

    The week long residential executive education programme is targeted at senior managers and businessmen.

    The carefully selected faculty of facilitators with a blend of rich academic and practical expertise will take participants through a wide range of contemporary management and strategic issues.

    This event is a paid for programme.

    On-air series

    On the on-air series, week one, which starts from June 4th to 8th will focus on Marketing and Brand Management.

    Speakers include Prof. Robert Ebo Hinson, Stephen Naasei Boadi, and Andrews Akolaa.

    Week two which will focus on “Managing People and Organizations” will have speakers: Taaka Awori, Lawrence Akosen, Dr. Cyamintah Baezie, and Prof.  Pikay Richardson.

    The third week will look at Technology and Innovation with speakers: Prof. Atuahene-Gyimah, Maxwell Dodd, Kofi Dadzie, and Franklin Asare.

    The final week will look at Leadership and Strategy with speakers, Hene Aku Kwapong, Cecilia Dei-Anang, Moses Baiden and Dr. Pikay Richardson.
