Officials of Gas processing plant have made yet another promise of completing the plant, by December 2013. The Gas processing plant is being constructed at Atuabo in the Western Region.
According to officials of the company, the new completion date will however depend on how quickly funds are made available to the contractors.
The project which is being funded with a $1 billion China Development Bank loan, has suffered many delays.
Chief Finance Director of Ghana Gas, Buliru Kasim Bukari tells JOYNEWS a total of Gh¢ 225 million has been spent on the project so far.
Mr. Bukari said 41 km of the 45 km of pipeline works on the offshore works representing 80% work has been completed, while 70% of onshore pipeline works has also been completed.
He is sure the plant will start commercial operation by December barring any unforeseen eventualities.
