GGSL organizes maiden technical seminar in Accra

  • _DSC0010GOSCO Geoscience Limited (GGSL) has organized a one day seminar for oil and gas industry players. The maiden event was organized to showcase the activities of the organization to state institutions in the industry, oil companies and the media.

    GGSL is a joint venture formed by CGG and GOSCO in 2016 to make available world-class marine seismic capabilities to oil and gas players operating in Ghana. The mission of the organization is to transfer knowledge in key technologies to build local capacity and skills.

    Participants were taken through seismic software developed by the organization including Avo, Strata, Emerge, RockSI, GeoSi Attributes, PowerLog and many others.

    In a press statement, Michael Amoah, General Manager-Designate of GGSL, said: “We are delighted to leverage the unique strengths of the CGG/GOSCO partnership to deliver leading-edge training. We have confidence in its direct value in capacity building and look forward to our partnership introducing more innovative service solutions as we deepen our support of the increasingly important oil and gas sector”

    Also, Alessandro Colla, Sub Saharan Africa Geomarket Director, CGG, said “GGSL is an important resource for expanding the services CGG provides to the Ghanaian E&P industry. By working closely with local players we benefit from their experience of working in country while they benefit from our global expertise as a leading technology provider. Our active participation in these Technical Seminars is an important part of our strategy to support an enhance understanding of the region’s consideration hydrocarbon potential”

    The event was attended by stakeholders in the industry including GNPC, Petroleum Commission, Ministry of Energy, Erin Energy, ENI and the media.
