The Ghana National Gas Company (Ghana Gas) and the Jubilee Partners have signed an agreement to connect their systems to facilitate the transportation of raw gas from the Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel, the FPSO Kwame Nkrumah, to the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant.

The agreement provides details of the works to be undertaken, including the construction and linking works required to connect the two systems. The overall goal of the project is to ensure that gas produced from the oil and gas fields in the Tano (Western) Basin is processed into clean fuels and feedstock for the domestic and export market.

The alliance between Ghana Gas and the Jubilee Partners forms part of initiatives by the former at ensuring that raw gas flows to the processing plant within the year.

The Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Gas, Dr George Sipa-Adjah Yankey, signed for his company, while the General Manager of Tullow Ghana, Mr Charles Darku, signed on behalf of the Jubilee Partners.

In his remarks, Dr Yankey said the agreement would allow the two bodies to facilitate the networking of their systems to connect and ensure that Ghana Gas met its goal of attaining first gas within the coming months.

“Our agreement today underpins Ghana Gas’s commitment to adhere to industry standards required for the completion of the Western Corridor Gas infrastructure project,” he stated.

For his part, Mr Darku said the Jubilee partners looked forward to completing the remaining works on the gas infrastructure project to allow the flow of gas from the Jubilee fields to the Ghana Gas processing plant.
