    TOP STORIES IN THE MONTH OF JULY
    In the month of July, two reports were launched by the Natural Resource Governance Institute on its research title Transfer pricing in the Extractive Sector in Ghana and Oxfam & FAT-Africa on Accountability Resources Management.
    Also, the Africa Center for Energy Policy (ACEP) published its report on Citizen Energy Manifesto, having embarked on a campaign to collate views.

    Emmanuel Emielu

    Personality of the Month -Emmanuel Emielu
    Emmanuel Emielu is a Managing Partner at Oil & Gas Soft Skills Limited, Nigeria; West Africa’s leading provider of oil and gas workforce development with over 30 years experience in facilitating and coaching.
    His engagements, typically, take place across Africa in countries like Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and Mozambique, including the UAE, UK and USA with a client list that includes ExxonMobil, Shell, Afriexim, Subsea7, ConocoPhillips, TOTAL, and several banks, insurance companies, and public service.
    Mr Emielu worked at Halliburton Energy Services where he held senior roles in marketing, training and sales, with responsibilities that at one time covered the Sub-Sahara African region.
    He is also a Certified Brain Friendly Trainer, a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, UK, and Council Member for the Lagos Business School Alumni Association. He is also a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Nigeria Gas Association (NGA), as well as the Oil & Gas Trainers Association of Nigeria (OGTAN), and the Nigeria Content Consultative Forum, (NCCF).

    Institution of the Month – Ghana Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative (GHEITI)
    Ghana Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative is the Ghana version of the global initiative aimed at following due process and achieving transparency in payments by Extractive Industry companies to governments and government linked entities”
    GHEITI is governed by the Finance Minister together with a National steering committee. The National Steering Committee is a multi-stakeholder body which is made up of about 23 members from Government Agencies, Civil Society Groups and Extractive Industry Companies represented by the Ghana Chamber of Mines. It produces annual and semi-annual reports and publications.
