The President gave this assurance at a meeting with outgoing Norwegian ambassador to Ghana Tom Tyrihjell at the Castle, Osu.

He said: “Norway and other Scandinavian countries have a lot of expertise in equitable distribution of national resources and my administration as a social democratic government would ensure that the national resources are equitably distributed.”

“Norway has over the years made judicious use of the natural resources especially oil and gas and we in Ghana will need to learn more from them to ensure equitable distribution of our national natural resources,”.

President Mahama added that, Ghana seeks to acquire more knowledge from the welfare system established in Norway and other Scandinavian countries and he will ensure all the necessary legislations regarding the oil and gas would be rigorously followed so that it is of total benefit for all Ghanaians.

On his part, the outgoing Norwegian ambassador told President Mahama Ghana remains an example to the rest of the world and asked him to ensure the enviable position remains intact.

“Let me first congratulate for being elected president for the next period through elections we consider very well conducted. Norway commends Ghana’s maturing democratic practices and remarkable growth, strong institutions and we think that Ghana is an example for many other countries, not only in Africa but beyond.

The Out-going High Commissioner who is the first since the establishment of their mission in Ghana was at the castle to bid President Mahama farewell after the end of his duty in the country.
