Jubilee Field to shut down today

  • maxresdefault (1)Oil production on the Jubilee Field is expected to be halted for the next fifteen days beginning today, Friday February 3.

This is to allow for an interconnection between the Tweneboa, Enyera, Ntomme fields and the Jubilee Field for gas exportation from the FPSO Atta Mills.

The interconnection between the countries’ first and second operating oil and gas fields will enable evacuation and export of additional natural gas from the TEN fields to its onshore Atuabo Gas Processing Plant.

There are fears the development could affect power delivery, but Executive Director of KITE Ishmael Adjekumhene told Starr Business he is optimistic that utility and power producers have contingency plans to ensure consumers are not affected in anyway.

“If you listen to what the utilities and the power producers are telling us,  they are making enough contingencies to ensure that the light  is on for those next fifteen days.

“Knowing very well that we have known since last year that in February they are going to shut down the FPSO, I will be very surprised  if it brings  about Dumsor.  I’m sure they have made enough provision to deal with what we are going to go through. I don’t expect that we go through any form of outages,” he said.
