Jubilee partners launch exhibition in Kumasi for students

  • Jubilee partners, operators of the jubilee oilfields, on Thursday launched an exhibition in Kumasi to educate Senior High School (SHS) students on activities involved in the exploration, production and lifting of oil.

         The aim of the exhibition is to keep them adequately informed about what goes into the production of oil and the opportunities that exist for interested students after their education.

         Speaking to newsmen at its launch at the Armed Forces Senior High School in Kumasi, Mr Gayheart Edem Mensah, Communications Manager of Tullow Oil, lead operators of the jubilee fields, said the exhibitions would be mounted in the district and regional capitals.

         He said this is to get more Ghanaians to understand issues concerning Ghana’s oil production adding that it was important for the people to have deeper understanding of the processes to promote transparency and good governance in the oil sector.

         Students from all SHS in the Kumasi metropolis are expected to participate in the two-day exhibition.

         Some of the students, who spoke to the Ghana News Agency, thanked the partners for creating the platform for them to get first hand information about the activities that go into the production of oil.

        They said they were confident this would aid them to appreciate the benefits to the country from its oilfields.
