Kosmos Energy celebrates safety feat

  • Kosmos Energy Ghana has celebrated a “Year of Zero Lost Time Injury” (LTI) across all its business operations in the country.

It achieved  this feat as a result of the high premium the company placed on safety.

The Director for  Health Safety, Environment and Security (HSES), Dr Kwame Boakye-Agyei, told newsmen that the achievement was a significant milestone not for Kosmos Energy Ghana alone.

He said Kosmos had over the years attached great premium to its operations, especially in the area of safety because it believed that the strength of every company was the health and safety of its employees.

Dr Boakye-Agyei emphasised that the company was seriously committed to undertaking its business in such a way  to minimise injury to people and damage to property.

Present at the ceremony were Mr Darrell McKenna, the Chief Operating Officer; Mr Gary Brooks, Vice President for Health, Safety, Environment, and Security; Mr Ken Keag, the incoming Vice-President,  Country Manager and Base Manager; Mr Chris Houlberg, and the HSES Advisor, Divine Tetteh.

Kosmos Energy is a leading independent oil and gas exploration and production company focused on frontier and emerging areas in Africa and South America.

The company’s asset portfolio includes existing production and other major project developments offshore Ghana, as well as exploration licences with significant hydrocarbon potential offshore operations  in Mauritania, Morocco and Suriname and onshore operations in Cameroon.
