The news online portal, Myjoyonline reported ”Small scale miners to hold demonstration over ban. According to the news house, small scale miners in the Ashanti region set out to mount a huge demonostration against Government over ban of illegal mining activities.
Also, Graphiconline also revealed ‘Chamber of Petroleum Consumers calls on govt to reduce fuel prices’. The Chamber of Petroleum Consumers (COPEC) has called on the government to take steps to immediately reduce the prices of petroleum products or face massive street protests in the next two weeks.
Goldstreet Business also reported Energy minister outdoors automatic switches to reduce electricity consumption. The Minister for Energy Boakye Agyarko, has outdoored an energy savings device being introduced by the Energy Commission to help users of deep freezers and refrigerators to cut down cost of energy consumption.
In the mining front, Classfmonline has disclosed Ahafo youth fight Newmont for jobs. The youth of Ahafo in the Brong Ahafo Region have given a one-week ultimatum to the regional minister to ask Newmont Mining Company to start employing them otherwise they will demonstrate against the government and the company.
