Classfmonline reported “ITLOS Ruling: Akufo-Addo praises Outtara’s statesmanship”. The media portal says President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has applauded President Alassane Ouattara for his show of statesmanship, in the aftermath of the verdict passed by the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) on the delimitation of the maritime boundaries of the two countries.
“EPA, NPA must act to stop needless gas explosions — IES” was also reported on Graphic online. According to the state-owned media, the Institute for Energy Security (IES) has asked the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) to act without fear or favour, in order to bring to an end what it described as the unwarranted and frequent liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) explosions in the country. According to the institute, records show that from 2007 to date the country has recorded over 110 deaths and 500 injuries from gas explosions under different circumstances.
Also the Media General portal online “Atomic gas explosion report ready, details kept under wraps”. They disclosed a report on the investigations covering among others, the cause of the explosions, will today October 13 be presented to the Interior Minister, Ambrose Dery, behind closed doors.
Furthermore, classfmonline has also disclosed “Ghana Gas LPG safe — CEO”. According to the news portal, the Ghana Gas Company has debunked rumours that liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) produced from natural gas from the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant is of a low quality and, therefore, stands a higher risk of exploding. It also refuted allegations by some stakeholders that the low quality of the LPG from the company triggered the recent gas explosion at the Atomic junction at Madina in Accra.
