Newspaper Review for Wednesday 28th June, 2017

  • Wednesday started with a continuation of the battle in the extractive sector over contaminated fuel which has generated controversies since last week Thursday. Headlines were ‘’ACEP accuses BOST of selling fuel’’, ‘’BOST denies wrongdoing’’, ‘’Energy Minister says Gov’t will investigate’’, ‘’Minority wades in’’.

    The daily newspaper today reports‘’The state newspaper Contaminated fuel generates controversy on Page 3. According to the Paper, report of the purported release of five million litres of contaminated fuel onto the market by the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation(BOST) Company Limited have stirred controversy among stakeholders in the industry.

    Furthermore, the Graphic reports ‘’Tullow Oil Ghana managers hone leadership skills at CEIBS’’ on Page 37. The Giant International oil firm Tullow has selected seventeen of its mid-career managers to undergo leadership training in China.

    Lastly, Graphic newspaper on Wednesday 28th June, 2017 has reported ‘’Bui Power Authority starts 250 MW solar Farm next month on Page 64. The paper explains that preparations are underway to start the setting up of 250 Megawatts solar panel expected to boost Grid Power Supply an information disclosed by the Chief executive officer ,Mr Fred Oware.
