Newspaper Review, Monday 19th June, 2017

  • The week came to a close with series of events from the Ghana Energy Summit through to the Annual report launch by Public Interest and Accountability Committee (PIAC) on Petroleum revenue management for the year 2016.

    Today, Monday 19th June, the countries accredited newspaper the Daily Graphic reports ‘’Use Oil revenue on fewer road projects, PIAC urges Govt’’. The half paged story on page 63 disclosed the oil revenue management for 2016, outlining the shortcomings and successes of the stakeholders in managing the revenue.

    Also on Page 19, Graphic reports ‘Gov’t collaborating to improve safe water in galamsey area’. The paper reports this is an initiative by the Regional Minister of Ashanti Region and the Ashanti Regional Co-ordinating Council (ARCC) to work closely with security agencies to improve the water situations in galamsey-prone areas in the region.

    Furthermore the paper reveals the story of beneficiary of Kosmos Innovation Center, an initiative by International Oil giant Kosmos on page 34 of today’s paper. The story dubbed ‘’ My Journey through the Kosmos Innovation Center’

    Lastly, Ghana’s most credible newspaper Graphic on Page 38 display a sixteen paragraph write up titled ‘’In pursuit of Jubilee, a story in the continuum of oil exploration in Ghana”. However, “In Pursuit of Jubilee” is a book by George Yaw Owusu, and it will be launched on Thursday 22nd June 2017 at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel at exactly 10:30 am in Accra.
