Thomas Kojo Stephens is a lawyer, consultant and lecturer and was called to the Ghana Bar in 2008.
He is also a member of Ghana’s Public Interest and Accountability Committee (PIAC), a statutory body with oversight over the use of Ghana’s petroleum revenue, chairs its Legal Sub-committee, and sits on its Technical Sub-Committee.
He attended Emory University in Atlanta, USA in 2003 as a Bill Gates Scholar, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Political Science and Philosophy, graduating Highest Honors, Phi Beta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude. He further obtained his LL.B from the University of Ghana, Legon in 2006, BL from the Ghana School of Law in 2008, LL.M from Cornell University, NY, USA in 2011, and PhD from University of Aberdeen, Scotland UK in 2014, attending as a Commonwealth Scholar. He is also an alumni of Christ the King International and Achimota School respectively.
Rethinking Ghana’s Constitutional Provisions for the Natural Resources Sector in the Light of Ghana’s Upstream Petroleum Industry,’ whilst others such as ‘The Long Meandering Journey: The Development of Ghana’s Petroleum (Exploration and Production) Act, 2016 (Act 919)’ is due for publication in 2018 are some articles he has published.
He also played a role in Penplusbytes Media tracking training, serving as a two time guest speaker treating legal issues of the Oil and gas sector with participants.
