RE: Arrest and prosecute the criminals at TOR immediately

  • SOURCE: | qwesa2big
  • The management of Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) has denied a ‘signed’ press statement by the Executive Secretary of COPEC, Mr. Duncan Amoah that some staff members of the refinery have ‘stolen and sold’ equipments.

The Management says the alleged theft case by COPEC was false adding that although no such matter has been established, a committee, however, has been set up to investigate another subject relating to how some scraps were disposed of in the refinery.

“In view of the above, the management of TOR would like to state that even though no such matter of theft of company equipment as being alleged by the statement has been established, a committee has been set up to investigate a matter relating to how some scraps were disposed of in the refinery’’, the statement read.

On Monday 18th December, 2017, our attention was drawn to a statement under the heading ‘ARREST AND PROSECUTE THE CRIMINALS AT TOR IMMEDIATELY’ which was circulating on Social media.

The statement, signed by the ExecutiveA Secretary of COPEC, Mr. Duncan Amoah alleged that some staff have ‘stolen and sold’ some equipment at the refinery and a committee has been put in place to investigate the report.

In view of the above, the management of TOR would like to state that even though no such matter of theft of company equipment as being alleged by the statement has been established, a committee has been set up to investigate a matter relating to how some scraps were disposed of in the refinery.

We urge all to remain calm and have confidence in the committee tasked to come up with their findings on the matter.

We wish to assure Ghanaians that the Management of TOR would ensure that the right thing is done at all times, and that no acts of corruption would be tolerated at the Refinery.
