Dr. Kwesi Botchway was very happy that Sinopec International Service Corporation, Chinese contractors for the project were doing very well.

He was particularly happy that some of the equipment being used by the contractors was hired locally and also many Ghanaians were employed for the project.

Dr. Joe Oteng- Adjei, urged the contractors to make sure to complete the project with the same speed and commitment without compromising quality.

He asked for co-operation between the Chinese contractors and the communities particularly those along the route of the gas pipeline and not to cause unnecessary constraints to the contractors.

Dr. George Adjah-Sipa Yankey ,explained that although the project was to be executed in three years, the government wanted it completed within one year.

He said the gas project was a dream of the late President J. E. Mills, and that the late President would be very happy wherever he was if the company worked hard to achieve his dream.
