  • tullow-oilTullow Oil is expected to resume its daily 90 million standard cubic feet of natural gas supply to Ghana Gas effective today, November 22, 2016.

Tullow, early this month announced a reduction of its daily natural gas supply by 40 million standard cubic feet to allow it complete a “critical turret remediation works upstream.”

The exercise was scheduled to last for 21 days.

Information available to citibusinessnews.com indicates that Tullow had not ramped up its supplies as at close of day on Monday.

But this is expected to change today, barring any last minute hitch.

The reduction in supplies to Ghana Gas also compelled Ghana Gas to reduce its daily gas supplies to VRA to about 48 million standard cubic feet.

Gas from Ghana Gas is used to power a number of power plants in the country including the Ameri power plant.

The faulty turret bearing on the FPSO Kwame Nkrumah vessel compelled Tullow to revise its production early this year.

The oil company cut down its production by more than fifty percent, to 33,000 barrels of oil per day.

In July, Tullow announced that it will cost the partners about 345 million dollars to repair the faulty turret bearing.

Tullow has subsequently revised its production guidance range to 62-68,000 barrels of oil per day.
