YPYC oil and gas seminar slated for July 19

  • Ms Lois Laraba Machunga-Disu, a top-notch oil and gas expert and International Consultant is to make a public presentation in Ghana to share major policy directions on oil and gas sector.

    Ms Machunga-Disu would speak on the topic: “Leveraging Governance Reforms in the Oil and Gas Sector to Accelerate National Economic Growth.”

    This was contained in a statement issued by the Founder and President of Young Professionals and Youth Coalition (YPYC), Mr Andy Osei Okrah and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Monday.

    The statement said Ms Lois Laraba would be making the presentation to young professionals, the business community and policy makers on July 19, in Accra.

    It said the event was the Quarterly Transformational Seminar series organised by YPYC, an organisation seeking transformational leadership and youth empowerment in Africa.

    It said the presentation would unearth the hidden treasures and secrets in the energy business and specifically focus on policies and strategies that could create new job and business opportunities in the oil and gas sector for the youth, young entrepreneurs, professionals and the business community.

    It said Ms Machunga-Disu “is the Founder and Chief Executive of JALZ Energy Limited, based in Abuja Nigeria providing energy services in strategy consulting, technical services and oil & gas operating company.

    The statement said Ms Machunga-Disu has more than 30 years total energy industry related experience and extensive and intensive training, both in upstream and downstream petroleum sector with 21 years spent with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, occupying various staff functions.

    Ms Machunga-Disu “is a graduate from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria; and post-graduate Management Science at Imperial College, London, United Kingdom (UK), and the Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Petroleum Management – with specialisation in Refining, Trading, Supply, Distribution & Gas Management at the College of Petroleum Studies, Oxford, UK.

    The statement indicated that Mr Emmanuel Armah Buah, Deputy Minister of Energy in-charge of Petroleum, would also address participants on the topic “Ghana`s Oil and Gas Industry in the Next 30 Years: Prospects, Opportunities and Challenges”.

    It said the seminar would be chaired by Mr Mohammed Amin Adam Ahata, an Energy Economist.

    It concluded that there was hope for Ghanaians and Africans as a whole
